Hello Ryegate,

I wonder if you could help myself and another forum member Jean to track down some information on two men.

At the moment we are compiling information on five Cork soldiers who are not on the CWGC memorial, I have obtained death certs for three of them from the Irish GRO and will forward them to Terry in due course,

but their search did not turn up any entry for the following two and I was wondering if they are on any of the lists that you may have access too, the dates below are from obituaries in local newspapers.

Denis Drummond Pte, Royal Munster Fusiliers, Died August 1915.

B Coughlan, Pte Royal Irish Rifles, Died 9th May 1915.

Any help will be greatly appreacated, thanks as always,

Regards,

Sean

Hello Sean,

I have just started some family genealogy research and I believe B Coughlan is my maternal great-great uncle, Bartholomew Coughlan, born in 1895 in Cork and KIA in the Balkans on either April or May 9, 1915. It seems his records are scattered but I am trying to compile them as best I can-I have found some of his military record on findmypast, his military card in the online National Archives (British), and there is a photo and a brief caption on page 8 in the Cork Examiner from September 25 (?) 1915.

. Hope you are able to see this as I know this discussion is several years old!

Best,

M
