Hi Kevin,

GENT, Jim P., Sgt., S/13839, K.R.R.B., 1917, I.80, 104

Doug

Thanks Doug - I don't want to appear ungrateful but I'm not sure what this adds to what I posted. What is K R R B ? ( something Rifle Brigade ?) and what do the numbers 1.80 & 104 mean ?

I'm not clear - were Death Certificates issued ? I know there was a letter from the War Office and a visit by 2 Officers with his personal effects .

Regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

It is the death certificate reference that you asked for.

I think but may be wrong that K.R.R.B. is Kings Royal Rifle Brigade.

I.80 is the Volume Number and 104 the page number reference for his death certificate.

You can purchase his death certificate from the GRO using the information I gave you. Go "Order Overseas Certificates" on the linked page.

Many thanks - sorry I did not understand the reference. The K.R.R.B ref. is a bit of a mystery - all the papers I have for him refer to The Rifle Brigade.
