Second Lieutenant, 1st/4th Battalion (Territorial), East Lancashire Regiment. Killed in action 9th August 1915, aged 18. Son of the Rev. William. and Amy L. Fyldes, of Witton Vicarage, Blackburn. Native of Hartington, Derbyshire. Buried at Redoubt Cemetery, Helles, Turkey

Lance Corporal 23428. 7th Canadian Infantry [british Columbia Regiment] killed 24th April 1915 age 50. Son of James and Dora Oliver of Hartington and husband of Sophia Elizabeth Oliver nee Thomas of Trail, British Columbia had father of William Evelyn who also fell on the same day, the same battle and both commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial Ypres, Belgium
and his other son James who also fell in 1917

He was born at Beeley, nr Edensor and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France. The CWGC have his surname as BOWRING which is his true surname
