Guest michael7 Posted 4 January , 2004 Posted 4 January , 2004 I'm trying to trace the details of Pte Edward Hunter who enlisted in 1914 (possibly the royal artillery) and served in Salonika from Nov 1915(thanks to Ken Lees for this info.)Does having this information narrow my search or is it still a case of visiting Kew and trawling through all the Edward Hunters to see if I can find a match?i I know he survived the war and went on to the ripe old age of 84 but no family records exist.
Chris_Baker Posted 4 January , 2004 Posted 4 January , 2004 Michael, do you have his medals, or anything that shows his number(s) or regiment(s)?
Guest michael7 Posted 4 January , 2004 Posted 4 January , 2004 No there's no other information unfortunately
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 4 January , 2004 Posted 4 January , 2004 Do you have any info regarding where he may have lived at the time of enlisting? This will not only help you with a search of soldier's records at TNA, but also if a Military Absent Voters List exists for the area? Over to you - Ian
Guest michael7 Posted 4 January , 2004 Posted 4 January , 2004 Yes he lived in Lydiate, West Lancashire, his brother John served in the King's Liverpool Regiment
