Would that be a transcribed copy?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for providing this link. The actual daily entries of the War Diary are complete from February 1917 to February 1919 (inclusive.) For some reason the transcriber chose to leave out most of the appendices except for two of them, being the 'Narrative of 116th Battalion in the Third Battle of the Somme' and 'Narrative Covering Operations from 27th September until 2nd October, 1918'. These have been placed in the document after February 1919.

The War Diary can be downloaded as a PDF file ,here.

What is so unique about this War Diary, is that it is not online via the Library and Archives Canada, so I’m really happy that you pointed out its existence. Evidently the Museum has a copy of the original War Diary. Thanks once more.

Cheers,

Michael

Very interesting .... and a new area to search. I have now added this to the 116th on the Matrix. Thanks for the find!
