hodgsonp Posted 2 January , 2004 Share Posted 2 January , 2004 This is my Uncle Fred. I believe he served in both World Wars though I'm not 100% sure he saw active service in the Great War - as I need to identify his unit. I have some photos but his regiment is still a bit of a mystery. He is pictured here in about 1920 somewhere near Lucknow on the North West Frontier. Can anyone ID the uniform? I had assumed it was some cavalry unit - but then a later photo turned up and the badge on that photo (see inset) seems to be a Grenadier - Also I have turned up a bunch of photos showing Fred with Rolls Royce Armoured cars (see next post) which may be another clue? Terry_Reeves Posted 3 January , 2004 Share Posted 3 January , 2004 Out of interest, the RE grenade has nine flames, the RA seven. Terry Reeves
