Guest michael7 Posted 30 December , 2003 Share Posted 30 December , 2003 I've just come into possession of my great grandfathers honourable discharge certificate which is dated 19th July 1919 it gives his regiment as King's Liverpool and his number as 649314 .Is it possible to find out which battalion he served with using this information? Thanks in advance
Ste Posted 30 December , 2003 Share Posted 30 December , 2003 Michael, I think you will be able to ascertain the battalion from the medal roll. Have a look at the 'Grandad's War' section of the parent site - click on 'The Long, Long Trail' at the top left of this page to get there. Cheers, S
Guest michael7 Posted 30 December , 2003 Share Posted 30 December , 2003 Thanks for your reply Ste,I'm going to Kew in a couple of days so I hope to find out more details. When I've looked through casualty lists that give service numbers none seem to go as high as my great grandfathers so I wondered if that would make it easier to trace but I'm sure I'll find out at Kew. Thanks Mike
