Stuart Brown Posted 29 December , 2003 Share Posted 29 December , 2003 Any information on Wkr G. Thornley, Queen Mary's Army Auxillary Corps, appreciated. Her serial number was 12708 and she served abroad as she was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal. She possibly married (199576) T.J. Warrener R.A.F. , and she/they lived in Nottingham (Hyson Green). MIC check not yet done. thanks Stuart
christine liava'a Posted 30 December , 2003 Share Posted 30 December , 2003 Without a first name or address, this will be hard. You could post a message on the the Thornley Genforum here. There is no Warrener one. Do you know her parents'names? I could not find a marriage on Free BMD, and you seem unsure as to whether there was a marriage. Were there children? If so , what was their surname?
Stuart Brown Posted 30 December , 2003 Author Share Posted 30 December , 2003 Hello Christine, Thank you for your reply and suggestions. There is no further information to add at present. I was hoping that someone might have some local newspaper research / picture similar to the replies in the thread titled - " wanted - photo's nationwide, summer madness". christine liava'a Posted 30 December , 2003 Share Posted 30 December , 2003 Interesting that her rank is "worker", rather than "nurse" I suppose there probably were more "workers" than "nurses", looking at Edwardian buildings etc You could also contact the QMAAC, who have a site somewhere. I did try emailing them before but got no response.
