Remembered Today:

Roll of Honour to those who fought

I saw this hand scrolled and handwritten record in a small village church on the edge of Exmoor.

Headed: Roll of Honour - list of Patriots from East and West Anstey serving in His Majesty's forces.

It does not record any deaths so presumably they all returned home.

A C Spicer, (recorded at the bottom of the left hand list), was the son of the Vicar of West Anstey. Father and son had the Christian name of Angel. I was interested to read that Angel Crawford was 'Canadian Contingent', he was born in Kent in c1892.
