Nooshie Posted 20 April , 2007 Share Posted 20 April , 2007 Dear All, I am new to the site,so bear with me!! We were wondering if anyone could provide any additional niformation aboutour granddad William Fred West ,who was killed in 1918. We know that he died on the 27th April 1918 and is buried in Gwalia cemetary. He was a Royal Engineer, service no: 15627 of the 20th Army troops company. We can find no information at all about the Army troops company and we know he joined the army originally in 1906,then came out ,was a blacksmith and went back in for the war. He only receive 2 medals, the victory and British. He doesn't appear on any war memorials and we have been campaigning to get him on his home town one. Anyway I am rambling!! If anyone can provide anyting it would be great. Kind Regards Nooshie
