Remembered Today:

Malcolm McGregor Phillips

Recommended Posts

My grandfather Malcolm McGregor Phillips was commissioned into the above regt

on 7th December 1917.

I would like to find out a bit more about where he served and what battles he took part in.

I believe he was wounded in the foot and possibly the head.

Can anyone assist.

Thanks for the prompt replies, there are obviously some seasoned experts out there.

Hopefully this will give me the start I need. Regarding his date of seniority, you are absolutely right Terry; 28th Nov is infact the date contained within the actual commisssion although on the outside of the document it says 7th Dec. I presume this would be the date the document itself was written/issued.

At the risk of pushing my good fortune ; I also have papers relating to a James Alexander Phillips or Phillips commisioned into 1st Bn The Monmouthshire Regt on 3rd July 1915. I was never aware of this member of the family until now and do not even know the relationship.

Thanks again, Malk.
