Guest Gerben Posted 16 December , 2003 Share Posted 16 December , 2003 Does anyone know someting more about Vlamertinghe In Juli 1917?
jhill Posted 16 December , 2003 Share Posted 16 December , 2003 There were undoubtably many things going on in and around that place. I can contribute the factoid that during most of this period the Main Dressing Station for stretcher cases serving the central part of the salient was located there. From there the caualties were sent to Casualty Clearing Stations a couple of miles west around Poperinghe, I believe.

Guest We'll Remember, POPS Posted 17 December , 2003 Share Posted 17 December , 2003 Hello, as Vlamertinge is very close to where I live, what do you want to know about it? Can you go more into detail? jan
Chris_Baker Posted 17 December , 2003 Share Posted 17 December , 2003 Hello Jan, welcome to the forum. I see Vlamertinge has a new traffic roundabout on the Pop-Wipers road. It came as quite a surprise and I nearly drove straight across it, as that road is so familiar to me!

zijde26 Posted 2 January , 2004 Share Posted 2 January , 2004 To Gerben, The book ' Gebeurtenissen te Vlamertinge tijdens de oorlog 14-18 ' written by R. Duflou can maybe answer your question. Sorry for my late answering ! Gilbert Deraedt
