Kookaburra Posted 14 April , 2007 Posted 14 April , 2007 Hoping someone can help me please. Thomas Clark embarked NZ on 10 July 1918 on the "Tahiti". I do not have a disembarkation date but he marched in Larkhill on 12 September 1918 and admitted to Military Hospital Fargo with influenza, dengue fever, TB where he remained until he was shipped home on the Maunganui on 2 December 1918. Thomas died of his illness 2 April 1922. In his Obituary it says that an epidemic broke out on the ship "Tahiti" enroute and most on board were stricken with between thirty and forty young soldiers dying. Does anyone know about this voyage and what group of reinforcements went over on it. In his Service file it says 40th Spec Coy and transferred to Machine Corps. He served 34 days in NZ and 186 days overseas service. Cheers, Diane PS: Sorry about previous post. I got booted before it finished sending.
Aaron Nelson Posted 14 April , 2007 Posted 14 April , 2007 Hi, He was part of the 40th reinforcements, Kind regards Aaron.
Kookaburra Posted 14 April , 2007 Author Posted 14 April , 2007 He was part of the 40th reinforcements, I wondered if he was part of the 40th reinforcements Aaron. Thank you!! I didn't personally research this man in fact none of the men I have asked for help with this past week are men I have researched. There is very little info in their folders and looks more like coming from the Fatal Casualty forms. Cheers, Diane
