I have Harry Knowles medal card. He Died of Wounds in Le Treport on 5.4.15. Which is the military hospital. Where would have his regiment been? MIC states he entered france on 4/11/14. Regard, Heather

It is possible that he could have been wounded at Neuve Chapelle (10-13 March) or could have even been wounded in the sniping incidents referred to on 3rd April.

No, I think that the red signifies the material introduced by Chris - hence the academic convention of square brackets.
