bruce Posted 11 April , 2007 Posted 11 April , 2007 This afternoon, my computer decided that it wanted to go on holiday. The blasted thing won't work. I am trying to get it to do as it is told, but with little success. As a result, I am typing this from the Town Council offices. I may manage to get the thing working, but if I am not in the chat room by 9.15, please assume that modern technology has defeated me. Bruce

If the Earl of Maghull cannot get his computer to converse, I have a 30 question quiz on the blocks and awaiting the bottle of champagne to launch it, shimmying with girlish delight, into the briny.
bruce Posted 11 April , 2007 Author Posted 11 April , 2007 Dear Ian, Many thanks for stepping into the breach...I owe you another pint of creme de menthe. After my Council meeting this evening, I returned home, found it still wasn't working, contacted the Town Clerk, got his permission to come into the Town Hall (with quiz!) and set it from here. Of course I had to load Java first....and then kept getting a message to tell me that I couldn't connect with the server, please try again in a few minutes. I feel ganged up upon by inanimate objects! Many thanks for stepping in....I have a quiz available whenever anyone wants it....presupposing that I ever get a computer working again! Thanks Bruce
