German 7.92 ammunition case/box

Hi

First post....does anyone have the dimensions of the German 7.92 ammunition case/box?

Any information would be appreciated.

Congratulations on your first post.

There were a few types of German WW1 MG ammo boxes produced that had a 500 round capacity but the most common box is the Patronenkaste 15 with a 250 round capacity. They are easily identified as the handle is offset to one side making it easier carrying 2 together in one hand.

Here is a photo of one Patronenkaste 15 from my MG08 display.

The dimensions are 357mm x 177mm x 85mm

Thanks for the replys...I alsos need the dimensions of the wooden crates/boxes the ammunition was shipped in.
