Locheelad Posted 9 April , 2007 Posted 9 April , 2007 Hi there I readily admit to being a complete novice so your help is truly welcomed. You've probably seen 200 pictures like these !! Can anybody help me by letting me know what these 2 items are exactly. One to me is like a Tent Peg, the other i've no idea - its like a spring like item with a buckle connected by a thin cord. I can give sizes etc if required. Many thanks in advance Bob
truthergw Posted 9 April , 2007 Posted 9 April , 2007 Hi Bob and welcome to the forum. As you will have seen , no pics. Can you try again?
Steven Broomfield Posted 10 April , 2007 Posted 10 April , 2007 And you're right. We have seen 200 pictures like these - everyone has problems first time up so don't be disheartened!
truthergw Posted 10 April , 2007 Posted 10 April , 2007 Hi Bob, the usual problem with pics is their size. Check the forum max and then shrink to fit.
PhilB Posted 10 April , 2007 Posted 10 April , 2007 Yes, Bob. Posting photos is the only time that size really matters. (My wife is smiling like the sphinx behind me) Phil B
Guest Trenchwire Posted 10 April , 2007 Posted 10 April , 2007 Hi Bob, the usual problem with pics is their size. Check the forum max and then shrink to fit. Again i have a problem with this, how do we shrink the pictures?.......... whenever i do it, my pictures always come out a real poor quality
Cam_s Posted 11 April , 2007 Posted 11 April , 2007 Hello, You could also try using a picture hosting site like Imageshack or photobucket. You can paste the URL they give you in the message and it should appear fine. this allowes you to post larger pictures than the forum allows because it is not actually in the forum but hosted by another site. Hope this helps, Cam
4thGordons Posted 11 April , 2007 Posted 11 April , 2007 The forum max for a post is 100kb I think, therefore external links provide the best option for big pictures where you want to maintain detail HOWEVER software like photoshop (and photoshop elements) and others often has a "save for web" button - this will often do the trick with just one click (also many scanners have a "scan-to web" function) - it reduces the definition of the picture to the max possible on the screen (far lower than is ideal for printing) and reduces file size. I think the usual problem is that modern cameras/scanners produce huge images because that way the print quality is better. If you don't have a save to web function on your editing software, try reducing the image dimensions to 3"x5" and the resolution to 72dpi that should give reasonable quality and size for posting. I'd be happy to try and fix the pictures so they can be posted if you would email them to me. Chris
