Pegasuss Posted 9 April , 2007 Posted 9 April , 2007 My Maternal Grandfather was 'James WRIGHT' Bn 23rd October 1898, Everton, I believe He Enlisted in the Liverpool Kings (probably Underage) between 1915 & 1916! He transferred to The Machine Gun Corps, for which I have His Medal Card I have been Unable to find any Record of His Enlistment &/or Service in The Liverpool Kings, a Senior Member (PPCLI, aka Stuart) suggested to me (on the above linked thread) that My Appeal for Help would stand a Better Chance & come to the Notice of some Knowledgable 'Kingsmen' If I posted this in a New Thread! So Here Goes! P.S. Pop Enlisted after being Haranged (almost to point of Tears) by the Mother of a Fallen Friend (Who had enlisted only Months before, also I believe Underage), who bumped into Him on the Street the day after She got 'The Telegram' telling Her of Her Loss! Living In Hope Peter
Roger Thompson Posted 9 April , 2007 Posted 9 April , 2007 Hi there Peter, When researching my wifes grandad, who also served in the Kings Liverpool Regiment, I e-mailed the regiment on, RHQ@kings.army.mod.uk, they forwarded me to a regimental researcher and in the matter of a short space of time I had my answer, and all for the donation of £15.00 towards the Regimental trust. I hope you find this info very useful. Cheers Roger, and the best of luck with your researching.
Pegasuss Posted 9 April , 2007 Author Posted 9 April , 2007 Roger. Thank You, I will contact the Kings! (it may have to wait till I have paid a Few Bills Though!)
Ian Riley Posted 9 April , 2007 Posted 9 April , 2007 A link page that will take you to the King's Liverpool researcher mentioned is through the Museum of Liverpool site http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/mol/his...furtherinfo.asp Going through the King's RHQ (now the Liverpool City Office of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment) will have you going to exactly the same researcher (done entirely voluntarily), but more slowly. I think he's quite busy at the moment, though. Your man being born in Everton (rather than Anfield) might encourage him. Ian
