pandabean Posted 30 March , 2007 Share Posted 30 March , 2007 Thank you very much Terry for all the hard work you have put in to getting my great grandfather Robert Thorburn Greenlees, commemerated. Robert T Greenlees was the son of Andrew and Sarah Greenlees. He was born in 1889 (signed up as being born in 1890) in Prestonpans, East Lothian. Robert married Sarah O'Neil in 1915 in Edinburgh and Robert signed up to the RNR in January 1916. He only lasted 8 months before being discharged due to Tuberculosis which was caught on board the HMS Attentive III. He died a year later in April of 1917 aged 27 in Livingston, Linlithgowshire. He and his wife had a son, Andrew being Roberts only son in 1916 who served in the second world war with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders as a driver. Sarah later remarried in 1919 and had three more kids. Robert had two other brothers who served and died in the war, they were William and John. I would love to be able to find more photos of him somehow but getting him commemerated is enough for now. Again a big thank you to Terry. Regards, Andy
