Just finished ploughing through my grandfather's extensive diaries which detail his time in Mesopot with the 64th Pioneers, Indian Army from Jan 1916 until he was badly wounded in February 1917. Very interesting commentary on the whole campaign, the fall and surrender of Kut and the subsequent campaign to relieve it. He looks at everything from a Pioneer Officer's viewpoint and makes some interesting comments on the command structure and its shortcomings!

Two officers in the battalion are awarded MCs (amongst others), I only have their surnames etc but no service numbers but as usual am having difficulty in finding the citations!! Lt. or possibly Captain Douglas Aylward and Captain Frank Owen Burne both awarded MCs in 1918 and probably gazetted thereabouts. Any help appreciated.

Not sure what you mean?

Thanks for Aylwards mention, obviously no specific citation probably part of the birthday honours?
