nhclark Posted 22 March , 2007 Share Posted 22 March , 2007 Noel The index on this site is an exact transcript of the paper index at Kew Mick Mick, I dare not disagree with you, because i suspect that you may have done the transcribing! All I can say is that I have attached the document that I downloaded from TNA, where my man is referred to simply as "W. H. Watcham." The index on the GWF site lists him as William Harry Watcham (his actual name was William Henry). More importantly, based on your experience, do you think that File/Report 2756 survives somewhere, and if so, where? Family reports say the WHW was wounded, taken prisoner, and had his right arm amputated in a German Field Hospital, and when he was repatriated he arrived home in mid-winter clad only in a "paper suit." If it exists I would dearly like to see what is in the file. Noel
Jim Strawbridge Posted 23 March , 2007 Share Posted 23 March , 2007 Purely out of interest the Indian Regiment produced a publication giving a Roll of all of their WW1 POW's as I have a copy of it. Not easy to use as it comes in sections but useful.
Tinhat47 Posted 14 March , 2009 Share Posted 14 March , 2009 The transcribed list of POWs on the Long Long Trail doesn't seem to be there anymore. What happened to it?
