According to SDGW , 1RB only had one casualty on the date you stated and buried in Mensil Cemetary.

Louis Sidney Price aged 27 , born Carlisle , son of Robert & Emily Price of Wigan.

Husband of Anne Price , 5 Poolstock , Wigan .

Enlisted in Wigan ,Rifle Brigade service number S/11449 , before the Rifle Brigade he was in The Royal Army Medical Corps , No. 42790 .

He is entitled to the 1915 Star , the British War Medal and the Victory medal.

The S/11449 shows he went to the Rifle Brigade end of September/start of October 1914 .

1st Battalion, The Rifle Brigade's War Diary for 10-11/10/15 only mentions:- "Enemy working hard on defence of Beaumont Hamel."
