War memorial

Recommended Posts

Off my usual patch I found a memorial plaque yesterday in a London church listing 46 names, of which 34 held army commissions, 1 RN and 1 RAF. The remainder were: NCOs, army, 4; privates/riflemen, 4; Royal Naval Div with no rank shown but found to be AB, 1; French, with a C de G but not rank, 1.

Is this proportion unusual?

I am running the names through CWGC for backup and will put more up if anyoneis interested.

if the plaque was relating to men from a private school then you'd expect fewer ORs
