hi would be grateful if any one has any help regarding my grandad has taken 2yrs to get this far then i found this wonderful forum .... here goes gunner JOSEPH DENOVEN R G A No 46805 enlisted SUNDERLAND ARRIVED FRANCE 21/3/15 awarded campaign medals victory british 15 star do not know dicharge date received an award from sunderland council 1919 dec died late 20s any help pplease rggrds dave denoven

I've just come across your post in this quiet little back water of the Forum. First, welcome, second, repost this in the soldiers section and I'm sure you'll receive a better response.

I've had a quick look through various bits I have and given the date of arrival, service no etc It looks to me he was a member of one of the Heavy Batteries, possibly one raised at Tynemouth. I don't have many details of Heavies ie date, place of formation and posting to F&F.

Hi, can only find a "Donovan" listed on the 1901 census, could this be a reason for your struggle to find details.
