Guest KevinEndon Posted 11 February , 2007 Share Posted 11 February , 2007 Chris has aggreed to a GWF badge, his choice is final. No better to place your design here. draw or comp generate its up to you.
CROONAERT Posted 11 February , 2007 Share Posted 11 February , 2007 Were none of the designs on any of the other done-to-death threads on this subject good enough? Dave
John_Hartley Posted 11 February , 2007 Share Posted 11 February , 2007 Clearly not, Dave. Clearly not. When this was first suggested (sometime back in history when I was still a fresh-faced novice), I offered to hold the stocks and do the logistics for these. I think there's been something like three attempts to agree a design and I've kind of lost interest in it all. As you say "done to death". Guest KevinEndon Posted 11 February , 2007 Share Posted 11 February , 2007 There are posts all over the forum on designs of a badge. Now that we have the go ahead to get one then these threads all need gathering together in one place for the final decision to be made on which one. I for one dont fancy going back over 4 years looking up designs. No doubt those who have a design know what thread its in and can post it here or they may still have it in a file on their computer. John I too offered to hold stocks and do the ordering etc (some time after John's offer, I think mine was in the third attempt). This was not only for badges but shirts etc that could be ordered on a one by one basis, in different colours. All that was needed was a minimum first order of 24 shirts/fleeces etc. Badges had to be orderd in 100's though. No response was received to my offer and I have lost interest in having a badge of any sort. Regards John

auchonvillerssomme Posted 11 February , 2007 Share Posted 11 February , 2007 perhaps we could incorporate it into the high visibility vest mentioned on another thread, that would serve 2 purposes, the first abiding with European law (allegedly) and the most obvious is that we can be identified as forum members from miles away which would allow people to steer clear in plenty of time. Mick Can we have a GWF helmet with a blue flashing light on top too? We'd look like a scene from a Monty Python sketch at the Menin Gate - great! Dave (GWF flourescent bicycle clips too, perhaps?) Mick You win post of the month Mick! I think it comes back to the 'pink trousers' of years gone by - if anyone is daft enough to want a badge identifying them as a GWF member then they are daft enough to wear pink trousers as a 'badge' instead... Ken Lees Posted 12 February , 2007 Share Posted 12 February , 2007 Oh no, not the badge thread again! I'll check this thread again in six months, after numerous good suggestions have been put forward and just before it fades away, again. It's easier to say now, "no thanks, not interested", than to get my hopes up that there might ever be one. Sorry, but been there and didn't get the t-shirt either. CROONAERT Posted 12 February , 2007 Share Posted 12 February , 2007 As I said to John on that old thread: Your wish blah, blah blah..... Jim No Jim. That's a "Badge of a badger". I want a real one with "GWF" tatooed on it ! Dave
CROONAERT Posted 12 February , 2007 Share Posted 12 February , 2007 No Jim. That's a "Badge of a badger". I want a real one with "GWF" tatooed on it ! Dave Actually, come to think of it, I'd be pretty recognisable if I had a badger on a lead without the GWF tatoo wouldn't I? Maybe all GWF members should get a pet badger (tattoed or not) instead of a badge? We'd recognise each other then (but don't go near fields that contain cows - the farmer wouldn't be happy!). Dave (PS anyone know any tatooists that specialise in tatooing badgers?)
John_Hartley Posted 12 February , 2007 Share Posted 12 February , 2007 I want a real one with "GWF" tatooed on it ! It'll be a damn nuisance trying to pin it to the anorak. Would the National Archives let you in with it? Could you claim it's "guide badger"? J
