Dee Posted 1 December , 2003 Share Posted 1 December , 2003 I have seen an excerpt from this book (I think I have got the correct title) but cannot seem to find a copy anywhere. I have searched N&M press etc., but to no avail. As this would relate quite a bit to the actions of my Granddad in The Great War, I would desparately like to find and purchase a copy, any ideas where I could find it? Thanks in anticipation. Terry_Reeves Posted 1 December , 2003 Share Posted 1 December , 2003 Dee I think the book you are referring to is: Britain's Sea Soldiers: A Record of the Royal Marines during the War 1914-1919 by General Sir HE Blumberg. There are two copies available at Abebooks.com but you may wish to get somebody to buy it as a Christmas present! Terry Reeves

rflory Posted 2 December , 2003 Share Posted 2 December , 2003 If you happen to be located in the United States, I can tell you that I borrowed a copy of the book on Interlibrary Loan from the library at California State University, Fullerton a few years ago. Dee Posted 2 December , 2003 Author Share Posted 2 December , 2003 Thanks everyone for your replies. I have checked out both titles at Abebooks and I think, due to the price, that this purchase will have to wait a little longer (certainly too much as a Christmas prezzie). Dick, unfortunately I live in the UK but you have given me the idea to check with my local libraries to see if they have a copy or can locate one. I have the SB version and the maps, plans and portraits are printed. As in any reprint the quality isn't 100%, but at 10% of the price of an original I thought I would buy one for now until I can better it with a pukka 1927 version. The book is a must for any WW1 RM or RND enthusiast.
