Martin Bennitt Posted 31 January , 2007 Share Posted 31 January , 2007 Robert Meier, a German veteran of both world wars and Germany's oldest man, died on Monday in his hometown of Witten in the Ruhr, according to the city authorities. He was 109. He was born in Ukraine of German parents on March 10, 1897 and looked after himself in his flat until he had a fall just before Christmas. I'm afraid I have no details of his war service but perhaos other pals can help. RIP. Martin Bennitt
