schmoodub Posted 30 January , 2007 Share Posted 30 January , 2007 Hi all, Firstly an apology... this is regarding the award of an MC and BAR during the second world war but i thought somebody may be able to help me here... Whilst visiting my wife's Grandmother this weekend i discoverd a newspaper clipping of her brother documenting that he had been awarded (by the king i believe) the MC and Bar... on questioning 'Gran' about this she said that he had served in the SAS during the war and lives in Guernsey. his name is Griff Caldwell and she said he achieved the rank of Major-General. Now this i found very interesting... i wonder if anyone could point me in the direction of a database that lists winners of the MC and maybe some information as to the reason for the award being given...? any help would be very much appreciated.. thanks Paul.
