CEF Books

I thought colleagues might like to know that I have just found a useful Canadian book site- CEF Books- at

http://members.rogers.com/cefbooks/CEFHP.html

I assume many of the titles are available in the UK but for one book that I am looking for, Bird's '13 years on', they are the recommended supplier.

I think Westlake has all or nearly all.

It was Westlake who referred me to them in the first place! :)

The 'King & Empire' series of guidebooks to CEF battlefields are excellent, and there are some fantastic reprints of CEF memoirs; Fraser's 'The Journal of Private Fraser' being one of the better ones. Ray Westlake sells them all and John in the Shell Hole at Ypres has most of them as well.

You will also find a selection of them available at the Canadian places of remembrance on the Western Front - and probably cheaper than elsewhere, though do remember that these places have seasonal opening hours. I have bought various volumes at Newfoundland Park visitor centre and at Vimy Ridge (the centre near the monument and not the visitor centre for the tunnels and craters.
