Remembered Today:

Hospital near Manchester - Weaster

More work on Barley's recollections. He got a Blighty wound and was sent to a hospital 2 miles (his miles are elastic) from Manchester which he located at Weaster. Not been able to locate it and as his spelling was not as good as his bomb throwing (which was pretty good) I wonder if anyone could tell me if the place existed or whether they can spot a likely contender.

Thanks

Edwin

Thanks, I'll buy that. My man wasn't far out in his spelling, bless him.

Edwin

Very likely to have part of 2nd Western General which had quite a number of premises throughout the area. There is a thread which lists them - a search on the name should bring it up and may identify exactly which which one.
