Garde Grenadier Posted 28 November , 2003 Share Posted 28 November , 2003 "Der kleine Friede im großen Krieg" - "The Little Peace during the Great War" ZDF - the Second German TV-channel - has just produced a documentary plus re-enactment of the famous Christmas Truce in 1914. It will be transmitted on German television ZDF on Dec. 7th 2003 at the ungodly hour 0:00, well, actually Zero Hour (makes me wonder who was behind that?! Or was it set to that hour without any hind-thoughts?). The program will be presented by Guido Knopp, a historian famous for his books and programs on WWII. There is also a book published on the Christmas Truce - in German - by Michael Jürgs (Bertelsmann Publishers). Well, if only WAR wherever would take a break - not just for Christmas... Best wishes for the coming season of Advent Daniel
Ste Posted 28 November , 2003 Share Posted 28 November , 2003 I have just bought Christmas Truce by Malcolm Brown and Shirley Seaton, with the express purpose of reading it at Christmas. Should help the digestion of mince pies a treat! S
