kevinrowlinson Posted 14 December , 2006 Share Posted 14 December , 2006 I thought this was an appropriate time to post a postcard sent nearly 90 years ago. It reminds me, and I am sure everyone else, that it is a time to remember those soldiers who have to be away from home over Christmas and wish for their safe return..no matter what year. I have searched the site before, but cannot find any reference, about whether someone has ever mentioned the differences between the early and latter years for the "humerous postcards" that were sent during WW1. From the early jingoistic to the later more sombre ones. Would posting them seem too frivolous? Regards Kevin

kevinrowlinson Posted 15 December , 2006 Author Share Posted 15 December , 2006 Caryl Thanks for your interest. Grandfather was demobbed 4 March 1919. He married my grandmother 26 June 1919. I posted the postcard because I thought there may be some interest in the changes in those that were sent during the war. Regards Kevin
