Moriaty Posted 14 December , 2006 Share Posted 14 December , 2006 Just seen Death of Glory, the Western Front 1915 by Robin Neillands in a bookshop. A hardback, published by John Murray on 2 November this year, price £20 but £13.60 on Amazon. Has anyone read this? If so, should I buy it with my Xmas book tokens (subject to me receiving some book tokens for Xmas)?? Moriaty

truthergw Posted 13 February , 2007 Share Posted 13 February , 2007 Just moving this to the top, to see if anyone has now read this title I have read it and it is one of very few books to deal with the early battles, Neuve Chapelle et seq. There is some interesting information on Allied politics and interrelationships of The French and British armies. Much of the factual content of this book already exists but in piecemeal fashion. The book gathers it all together and makes some cogent comment. Well worth buying if , like me, you are specially interested in the early stages of the war.
