Soren Posted 14 December , 2006 Author Share Posted 14 December , 2006 The so called 'related' films are a bit odd they have the Japanese using a Bren gun? also they did not re enact beheadings or bayonetting nurses.....
Owen D Posted 14 December , 2006 Share Posted 14 December , 2006 I was there at Old Sarum, started a thread about it back in the summer. http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...c=53646&hl= The Jap film nothing to do with it but they could have captured the Bren. I think they might be pretending it's a Type 99 LMG.
Andrew Upton Posted 14 December , 2006 Share Posted 14 December , 2006 I found this on you tube, quite good for uniforms etc I have seen this clip before - the commentator is Richard "Dickie" Knight, a GWF member and occasional poster, who runs "The Vickers Machine Gunners Society 1914-45" of which I am a member. The young soldier with the tripod is Martin Lambert, aka "Trenchwalker" - and the rest of the team are Great War Society members, and put on a fine show for the public, despite having problems with the ammunition during some of the displays. Annoyingly for me, I was about 10 foot behind the MG team at this point, and so wasn't captured on film! C'est la guerre! The other Old Sarum WW1 films are worth a watch, especially the one filmed in the German "trench":
