French Casualties

I'm trying to break down casualties suffered by the French on the various Western Front sectors in 14-18 - The Frontiers, Verdun, Champagne, Picardy, Artois, Flanders etc.

Does anyone know if there is a single web-based source of this information that I could look at?

Hello Tom

You can find every deaths for France on this site :

http://www.memoiredeshommes.sga.defense.gouv.fr

Then, in the left column, click on " Morts pour la France 1914-1918 ".

There is 1,3 million individual index cards

Click at the top "Recherche" (search) then type the name which you look for

You will find also the " personnel de l'Aéronautique militaire of 1914-1918 "

There is 74.000 individual indx cards.

Good work

Wow! - an excellent site, Denis. I'm glad that you mentioned it.

However I am looking for a site which will give me total casualty numbers for each battle. Do you know of such a site?
