Sarah_L Posted 8 December , 2006 Share Posted 8 December , 2006 Hello. I have been given a picture of my great-grandfather in World War I uniform and wish to know more about him. Is anyone able to identify his regiment from his cap badge? He was from Sheffield if that helps. Any help on this will be much appreciated. Thank you, Sarah

BeppoSapone Posted 8 December , 2006 Share Posted 8 December , 2006 I'm going with the South Staffordshire Regiment, although no doubt i'm wrong! Barrie Definately the "Stafford Knot". What is that above it though? A crown equals South Staffordshires and the Prince of Wales' feathers equals the North Staffordshires - see next post. Sarah_L Posted 8 December , 2006 Author Share Posted 8 December , 2006 It definitely does look like the North Staffordshire badge to me too now I've seen a picture of it. I would have never have found it on my own. Thank you everyone for your help - you are all fantastic. Regards, Sarah
