Cap Badge Identification

Hello. I have been given a picture of my great-grandfather in World War I uniform and wish to know more about him. Is anyone able to identify his regiment from his cap badge? He was from Sheffield if that helps. Any help on this will be much appreciated. Thank you, Sarah

Definately the "Stafford Knot". What is that above it though?

A crown equals South Staffordshires and the Prince of Wales' feathers equals the North Staffordshires - see next post.

It definitely does look like the North Staffordshire badge to me too now I've seen a picture of it. I would have never have found it on my own. Thank you everyone for your help - you are all fantastic.

Regards, Sarah
