Camelon War Memorial

Hi Folks,

Work is underway to have a War Memorial erected in Camelon.

This is a request for anyone with knowledge (and verification) of any men or women, native or living in Camelon, lost during not only the 1st & 2nd World Wars, but in any war since.

Already there is an extensive list of names taken from various Church Memorials in the area which unfortunately doesn't list either rank or regiment and also a list of men and women whose names appear on both family & CWG stones within Camelon/Falkirk Cemetery. The latter will not be 100% accurate (as any of you graveyard wanderers will know) due to erosion/weathering/vandalism/etc., and obviously many of the men/women are not actually buried there, it's only their names which appear on family headstones.

The British War Memorial Project have forwarded a spreadsheet of all names listed in their records but at the moment it looks like it'll be their records which will be updated rather than the other way round!

If you can help, please get in touch.

Thank you.

Anne
