Can any one tell me about this busbie, year of make, & unit. As i feel it is Royal Engineers, about 1920? and cost. The busbie as a light blue bag with leather lining, made by Hawker & Co Ltd, No 1 Savile Row London, W. Cheers for any help. I have moved this to Sales

The only positive help I can offer towards dating it is to find out when Messers Gieves and Hawkes of 1 Saville Row (as they are now) came into existence as a compamy, thereby giving a date before which Hawkes and Co occupied the premises as a single entity - before "amalgamation" as it were. Unfortunately their web-site is none to specific about the date of G&H coming in to being but one can deduce that they were G&H in 1926 so that should mean that your busby, does, as you suspected pre-date the mid 1920's. Hope this helps.

PS just found a note on a web site which claims that G&H occupied No1 Saville Row in 1912...but I cannot verify that. Could mean your busby is even earlier???
