Okay I found this on the internet with just it saying it is just from Verdun. Does anyone know which part?

And isn't that walk way lead up to the 175(?)mm turret? Or is that in Vaux?

Vaux has many turrets and observation cupulas scattered about including a large turret that was sent skywards; that's how i remember the two. Did you go on top of Froideterre; amazing site; retracting turrets etc scattered amongst the shell holes; opposite the infantry 'ouvrage' 4 chimneys; for me the most extraordinary place

Hi everybody,

The walk way leads up to the top of Fort Douaumont near the 155mm turret

On the other side you can see that

I suppose your are talking about "Casemate Pamard"

Created by Capitaine Léon Pamard, about thirty of them were built from 1917.

They were established in the proximity of the fort and were equiped with two machine guns

They were connected to the fort by an underground gallery.

Thanks pascal; I have yet to visit Tavannes; was on my agenda for the last trip but too much to see in the St Mihiel salient; although 'out of bounds' the remains of Ft camp des Romains - or something similar is very impressive and a walk aroud the perimeter is well worth while
