J T Cornwell VC J/42563 trained at Keynham Naval Barracks at Plymouth

W H Gouldsmith J/42476 Trained at HMS Vivid Plymouth

Numbers are close together, any relevance? Anyone know anything about the training camps?

Both have Essex connections ( Essex covered half of the Eastend of London at the time of the Geat War )

The latter is not really known, when compared to Cornwell!

I think it was KEYHAM - later the Royal Naval Engineering College until Manadon was built.

Were Keynham and VIVID one of the same or two locations close to each other?

Both in Keyham Dockyard and very close to each other, the barracks (Jago's Mansions/ Vivid) where seperate from the Engineering College.
