Borden Battery Posted 20 November , 2006 Share Posted 20 November , 2006 Hello Johno Here is something from the CEF Study Group list of Recommended Great War websites which may be of interest to you ... at least it may provide some additional information leads. Borden Battery The Royal Dublin Fusiliers Association The site commemorates all Irish men and women who volunteered, served and died in the Great War 1914-1918 by organizing public exhibitions, lectures, seminars, visits and the publication of a journal. It includes information and objects relating to the soldiers of Royal Dublin Fusiliers and the other disbanded Irish Regiments. curranl Posted 20 November , 2006 Share Posted 20 November , 2006 Hello Johno, I have found the man you are looking for in Ireland's Memorial Records. At least, I think it's him; his number is 13093 and he died at Gallipoli, not France. Gibson, Robert James. Regimental number 13093. Rank, Private, Royal Irish Fusiliers, 5th Battalion. Killed in Action, Gallipoli, August 16th, 1915; born Shankhill, Belfast. The only other RJ Gibson in these records was 17705, 12th Royal Irish Rifles. This man did die in France. Send me a PM with your email address if you want the original entry. Regards, Liam.
