i have just come across  newspaper reports of the accident and his death (West Sussex County Times, on CD in West Sussex libraries). The collision involved a William Allen of Bognor Regis in a car and Lt Orme on a motorcycle at Roman Gate, a road junction on the border of Rudgwick and Slinfold (A281/A29). He was attended by two local doctors, Dr Frank Boxall of Rudgwick and a Dr Vernon. They had him transferred to the hospital in Brighton. Orme was a residnt of Worthing at the time, and reported to be 25. He earned his status in the CWGC listing.
