12th Kings Liverpools involvement

Any forum members have any info relating to the Battalion and the events of the 16th - 18th at Langemarck, have tried long long trail but still under construction any help appreciated

I can give you some info. on the 12th King's for this time from the Divisional History, I'll type it up tomorrow if no one else beats me to it.

The 12th Battalion K.L.R. War Diary has the following for the 15th - 18th August 1917

15th August 1917

Steenbeek River

Battalion marched to Assembly Positions on Western side of the STEENBEEK River, starting at 9:00 p.m.

16th – 17th August 1917

Steenbeek River

Attacks on LANGEMARCK. ZERO hour at 4:45 a.m. on 16th. Objectives taken. Detailed narrative of operations and sketch, attached.

18th August 1917

Near Proven

Battalion relieved by 15th Bn WELSH REGT. (38th Divn.) Relief complete at 2:45 a.m. 1 Officer and 2 Other Ranks killed and 1 Officer and 5 O.R. wounded during relief. Marched to MALAKOFF FARM Area (Sheet 28) via AU BON GITE and STRAY FARM. Bn. entrained at ELVERDINGHE STATION at 2:00 p.m. Detrained at PROVEN and marched to Camp at E.16.a.9.5. (Sheet 27).

Cheers Phil, intersting of mention additional narrative fot the attack on the 16th, believe this was against Langemarck, believe war diary ref is wo95/2126
