davejc Posted 14 November , 2006 Share Posted 14 November , 2006 Hi, Is the number on the MIC, against the SWB, the same as the number on the badge, or is it just a reference to the medal roll where there would be another number. I have searched relevant posts but can't find anything definitive. i.e would his badge have 5286 on the back? Cheers, Dave

Dave The reference number LC/5286 isn't the same as the badge number, as you quite rightly suggest the number shown is a reference to the medal roll where there will be another number. Guest KevinEndon Posted 14 November , 2006 Share Posted 14 November , 2006 No, the number on the MIC is the roll where you will get the information from down at the National Archives. You may well struggle to find the number of the badge he wore without paying for a researcher or a trip down to the N.A. Kevin
davejc Posted 17 November , 2006 Author Share Posted 17 November , 2006 Thanks for clearing that up - some of these things tend to be implied but not made clear, not clear enough for me anyway. Cheers Dave
