Lesley - is it just photos and does it have an index stating service/bttn? I would be interested in photos/details of any men serving in the Royal Marine battalions of the Royal Naval Division.

Also if the index allows - can you do a search on HMS VANGUARD.

Thansk,

Jon

Sorry Jon it is only a name index, the battalions/corps are listed with the photo only.

The CD only contains photos of soldiers, memorials and some citations. There are over 300 pages so it isn't practical to do a page by page search. The Book is in the PRO library, sorry but I can't remember if there is a battalion index. Do you have any specific names to check? If you have send me a PM and I'll check them for you.

Lesley,

No specific names but I will probably have a browse myself next time I am at the PRO - for some reason I thought you had it electronically. I presume I will find it in the WW1 section?

Thanks,

Jon

Hugh . Photo no 6 is J Jacobs . Oppenheimer is not listed.

Scouser, same goes for Goodheart I'm afraid. Bear in mind the disk only covers photos. The original book is very large and their names may well appear in the text only. A copy is held in the National Archive library at Kew.

Hi,

Its terribly kind of you to offer research.

If its not too much trouble I'm looking for Lewis E Peek who served with the East Yorkshire Regiment in the 1914-15 campaign He was decorated at least with the Victory and Star medals and I believe he was killed in action. He served in Egypt but thats all I know. Oh - I have a reg number of 10/1155 but that means little to me.

Are you able to help at all?

Thanks and Regards

Mandy
