Guest Kenny Posted 11 November , 2006 Share Posted 11 November , 2006 There is a new site, www.journeyofremembering.org, with a searchable database, for soldiers and Merchant seamen from Belfast who died in the Great War. The provisional database currently contains over 5,000 names and details. Additional information is requested.
marc leroux Posted 11 November , 2006 Share Posted 11 November , 2006 Would anyone have any way to contact these folks? The eMail information on the contact page doesn't seem to work. Thanks marc
Desmond7 Posted 11 November , 2006 Share Posted 11 November , 2006 Lt. Col Derek Smyth works for the Army Benevolent Fund NI. I'll be speaking to him Tues or Wed. I've noticed a few probs myself .. he knows of a few too. But the guy is top class and I can vouch for his commitment to WW1 history and memorials. Stick with it. We can make it better. Mark - I reckon you could be a major help to these boys. I know you have a herd of Belfast stuff!

Guest Derek Smyth Posted 5 January , 2007 Share Posted 5 January , 2007 Great "provisional database " but shouldn't be taken as gospel as if it was I'd find it disrespectful to men like http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_detail...?casualty=44621 who may end up missing! Marc, I feel you may be able to help in this project - just joined the forum
