boardy Posted 10 November , 2006 Share Posted 10 November , 2006 A friend has asked me to find out more about his Grandads First World War service he has a picture and a news clip, stating that he held the Mons Star and was in France 4 years.He also served in the Secound World War and was at Dieppe.His Army number upon discharge in 1940 was 7606251 Pioneer Corps.Can anyone identify the soldiers unit from the picture and give details of thier movements. On the WW2 part of his service, if he was discharged in 1940, I presume he was based in Dieppe prior to the Dunkirk Evacuation. The Dieppe Raid was in 1942, if memory serves.
