J Banning Posted 8 November , 2006 Share Posted 8 November , 2006 I am hoping someone can help. I have an account written by an officer of the 59th Field Ambulance, RAMC (part of 19th Division) who mentions two privates being hit by shellfire on 20 Sept 1917. One is Private JJD Bell who died from his wounds on 23 Sept and is buried in Outtersteene Cem Ext, Bailleul. The other Private is called Munck but I cannot find any trace of him or a variation on that name on CWGC website. My source says that Munck was killed outright. Would anyone be able to pull a list of all other ranks who served with 59th Field Ambulance RAMC and died on or around 20 Sept 1917? many thanks in advance

chaz Posted 8 November , 2006 Share Posted 8 November , 2006 picking up on RAMC casualties between 20th and 23rd Sept 1917, there were 37. closest to Munck would be Murrell. 30 were France and Flanders and the Privates were 32 of the 37 and 2 were Military Medal winners!
