mick.jw Posted 6 November , 2006 Share Posted 6 November , 2006 Hi all, Can anyone please help me in how to obtain the service record of J.W. Partridge. He was a sgt in the 6th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment. He was awarded a DCM at Thiepval 26-27th sept 1916. According to his medal card he was also a 2nd lieutentant with the regiment. He went on to be an observer officer with the RFC 38 squadron and was promoted again to lieutentant. Ihave tried using the National Archives and I am stuck. Would he have a different service number in the RFC-RAF? Also has anyone any information on the 6th battalion or 38 squadron they would like to share. Many Thanks Mick. Stebie9173 Posted 6 November , 2006 Share Posted 6 November , 2006 Busy weekend, Mick. I shall send 6th Northamptonshire Regiment War Diary extracts tonight! As I mentioned in my e-mail the RAF officers service records need to be looked up at the National Archives at Kew, as they are Microfilm records. Having said that, there are other sources of information about, and I wouldn't bet against some more info coming our way soon! Steve.
