Guest mruk Posted 6 November , 2006 Share Posted 6 November , 2006 "A disgraced British Army goat has been reinstated to the rank of lance corporal after impressing on parade. Billy Windsor, mascot of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh, was demoted last June after his erratic behaviour marred a parade to celebrate the Queen's birthday. He has been reinstated after his performance during a parade to mark the battalion's part in the Crimean War." [soldier: November 2006] This really tickled me, and I thought I'd like to share it. Cheers, Dave
Muerrisch Posted 6 November , 2006 Share Posted 6 November , 2006 I don't acknowledge this Royal Welsh nonsense, that Goat is THE GOAT of the Royal Welch Fusiliers as far as I am concerned. The merger was grotesque.
Rob B Posted 6 November , 2006 Share Posted 6 November , 2006 Grumpy, We agree, and perhaps that was a reason behind the goats apauling behaviour always liked the RWF, they were next to us in Hemer in the late 70's. Cheers, Rob

Bernard_Lewis Posted 14 November , 2006 Share Posted 14 November , 2006 Must be the same goat that was at Swansea when we unveiled a plaque to the 14th Welsh. He behaved impeccably. We didn't call on him to speak... Bernard
